The Help That Is Needed So Much
It’s been already a year since the Charitable Foundation of Social Development in the Kharkiv Region began its activities. During this year residents of the Balakleia district learned about the Foundation’s work within the scope of the Kharkiv Healthcare for People program. Yet this is by no means the only social activity in the area of regional development.
A short while ago the Charitable Foundation of Social Development in the Kharkiv Region began the implementation of the targeted aid program for IDPs.
Oleksandr Kushnir, the Foundation’s coordinator in the Balakleia district, said that the mentioned program is realized with the financial support of the international ACT Alliance (Geneva) by the Hungarian Ecumenical Aid Service and the Charitable Foundation of Social Development in the Kharkiv Region. As a result, targeted help in form of eighty humanitarian aid packages will be provided to internally displaced people in our district.
One such package includes 1 l oil, 4 kg flour, 3 kg rice, 2 kg pasta,1 kg sugar, 2 cans of canned pork, and a pack of tea. They even took care to provide people with a personal hygiene set consisting of 1,6 kg of laundry detergent, soap, shampoo, shower gel, and toothpaste.
Olena Razuvaieva, a mother with many children (on the right), shared her impressions:
“We bring up five minor kids. Before war in Donbas we lived in the city of Pervomaisk in the Luhansk district. We’ve been living in Milova, the village where we rent our housing, for two years now. All of my children either go to school or to the kindergarten. And today we’ve been invited to receive a humanitarian aid pack. We needed all food and hygiene products very much. Thanks to all good people for it.”
