The Fund facilitates arrangement of street lighting in Pervomaiskyi
Thanks to the support from The Charitable Foundation of Social Development of Kharkiv Region, on two streets of the city of Pervomaiskyi, modern street lighting will appear. Lanterns will be installed in the coming months.
Every night Roza street and Kiltseva street, located on the outskirts of Pervomaiskyi, plunge completely into the darkness of the night. Street lighting is not present here since the very foundation of the settlements – which was several decades ago. But this year, local residents have a real chance to install lighting on their streets: their applications won the competition for mini projects "Razom u maibutnie" (Into the future together), which was held by the Kharkiv Regional Council. For the organization of illumination for Roza street there is 120 thousand hryvnias allocated, for Kiltseva street - 70 thousand. In order to receive these funds, residents had to contribute to the financing of each project 5% of the total amount. However, even this local people were unable to muster.
"In both cases, during the collection of money among the initiative groups, there were difficulties, and the implementation of projects was in jeopardy. Fortunately, people have been aided by The Charitable Foundation of Social Development of Kharkiv Region," - explains Pervomaiskyi City Mayor, Mykola Baksheyev. - Benefactors responded to our request and provided the money that was missing. This is five and a half thousand hryvnias for Kiltseva street and another one a half thousand for Roza Street. We are sincerely grateful to The Fund for its cooperation and its contribution to the development of our city."
"The Fund has been implementing philanthropic projects for three years in Pervomaiskyi district. Due to close interaction with the city and district authorities, we are able to respond promptly to emerging problems, to provide assistance where it is most needed," - says Chairman of The Supervisory Board of The Charitable Foundation of Social Development of Kharkiv Region, Valerii Dema.
Now the responsibility for the implementation of mini-projects on lighting arrangement at the streets of Roza and Kiltseva is on the city hall. According to Pervomaiskyi City Mayor Mykola Baksheyev, the work is scheduled to begin in August, and all the works are estimated to be completed no later than October.
