Pervomaiskyi district pensioners will be receiving newspapers for free
The Charitable Foundation of Social Development of Kharkiv Region has paid 2018 subscription fees for the district newspaper "Znamya Truda" (Banner of Labor) for the disadvantaged residents of the city of Pervomaiskyi and the district.
Paraskoviya Yevheniyivna, who lives in the village of Shulske, is already far over eighty years old. Throughout her life the woman has worked in animal husbandry – working at a farm, being a leading worker and a village council deputy. Left alone in her twilight years, Paraskoviya Yevheniyivna continues to be actively interested in what is going on around, follows events in the region and the country.
"I have been reading newspapers for as long as I can remember myself," says the pensioner. “Of course, I watch TV too, but there is very little local news there. Therefore, I always read the district newspaper! Thank you for making it possible for me to continue doing so in the future."
Annual subscription to "Znamya Truda" has been covered for 20 pensioners of Pervomaiskyi district, who made such a request to the Foundation. For the most part it was lonely elderly people and people with disabilities.
Earlier this month newspapers subscription fees were covered by the Foundation for Balakliiskyi district veterans.
