Kharkiv healthcare for people

Kharkiv healthcare for people

Program Description

The aim of the program is to assist rural healthcare institutions in the provision of check-ups in the Kharkiv region and to ensure access to the up-to-date medical services for the socially vulnerable groups of rural society.

On the 27th of August 2015 a Social Partnership Agreement was signed between the Charity Organization “The Charitable Foundation of Social Development of the Kharkiv Region” and the Healthcare Department of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration.

For the program there were mobile teams built up consisting of professional volunteer doctors from the healthcare institutions in Kharkiv. Every medical team is equipped with a special vehicle, medical equipment and supplies, as well as with the ultrasound and diagnostic equipment.

Volunteer doctors (gynecologists, traumatologists, neuropathologists, ultrasound diagnosticians, mammologists, cardiologists, ophthalmologists, and practitioners) follow a specific schedule; they arrive in villages to help doctors of primary healthcare units and family outpatient units with diagnostic and preventive check-ups.

Medical examinations allow to reveal diseases at an early stage and to provide timely aid.

The project started on July 17, 2015 and is ongoing. Since then mobile medical teams of the Foundation have travelled to 27 districts of the Kharkiv region and paid more than one visit to some of them.

Aid provided by volunteer doctors of the Foundation is the only opportunity for rural residents to receive free professional medical diagnostic.
